Home Gym Kit?

July 19th, 2008 admin No comments

I brought a small home gym kit about a year ago. There is a small trampoline, skipping rope, stepping machine an exercise mat and weights. I ve not used it in ages and have lost the exercise guide that came with it.

I would like to lose some weight but would mostly like to tone up my stomach hips and legs. What are the most effective exercises that i can do with the equipment?
How often and what times of the day are best?

Thanks x

Looking for a Home Gym like this?

July 5th, 2008 admin 4 comments

OK i am looking for a home gym that is around $1000 or less. I am looking for a home gym designed like this.

http://bigfitness.com/caribouracknew.html

But i dont want the smith machine, i hate being able to go only up & down.
Or are there any cheaper then the Bodycraft Jones smith machines type? They are priced at $2000 and thats pretty high. A bodycraft jones is a smith machine where you are allowed to not only go up & down but forward & backward.
what is the $500 machine like?

Just got new home gym . . need workout routine?

June 30th, 2008 admin 1 comment

I just bought a home gym so I can get strength training in with my exercise routine. I also have an elliptical and I plan on alternating between the two every other day.
I need to know the best workout routine to start with for strength training with the home gym. What weight to start with and for how long? How long every day to work out on it?
I am a female 5’6″ 145 lb. My husband will also be using it and would like to know the same.

Home gym equipment in London?

June 4th, 2008 admin 3 comments

I’m planning to buy a home gym (Marcy or York). It’s easy to order one online, for sure. However, I’d like to try it out before assembling it at home. Are there any stores in London specialized in such equipment where I could try and they would then deliver it…?
nealo d – thanks for your answer, but I was there and they told me they stopped selling home gyms a couple of years ago. So no luck there…

Tips on purchasing home gym system…?

June 2nd, 2008 admin 4 comments

We just recently purchased a Spirit XE150 Elliptical and are in the market to purchase a home gym for muscle toning. It was easier to get great reviews for the elliptical. I was able to get reviews from both customers and people that service or fix the machines, but home gyms are a little tricky. Our budget is 1k or lower since the elliptical were way over budget already. I weigh 120lbs 5’2 and am looking to get some muscle tone. My husband weighs currently 205lbs 5’10.. he gained 60lbs since we started dating 5yrs ago… my fault… and I feel bad… He has lost about 15lbs because of change of diet (ie more greens, salmon instead of steak, wine instead of smirnoff, sushi instead of applebee’s, etc), but he would like to tone his muscles while losing weight to avoid sagging… Any advice will be helpfull… thank you so much… :o )
