Is a home gym better than using weights such as, dumbells and barbells?

Is having a home gym going to give me better results than just using weights? I was thinking of getting the Bowflex Motivator 2 home gym…

nope, those machines limit your range of motion. The freeweights allow you to use your natural motion instead of restricting you. They are wayyy over priced (but so are gym fees). They will work, but the dumbells are much better
not sure but I use dumb bells
In my opinion, the answer is no. It does depend on what outcome you want though. If you are wanting to tone up, get more muscle mass, etc., then you need to use free weights. If you are just wanting to stay in shape and maintain, then the bowflex would be mediocre.
id say stick to old school weights
The reason for getting a home gym is so you don’t have to go out to a gym in the first place. If you want to build real muscle mass then use free weights. If you just want to stay tone and get in a quick workout now and then, then the Bowflex will work.
I used to use a home gym contraption, but moved to free weights and saw a drastic increase in muscle mass and tone. I prefer free weights now.
use dumbells. don’t waste your money on bowflex. everybody who got that junk is selling it on ebay.
No way can the bowflex even come close to the results you will see using free weights. As most have already said restricting movement and not using stabalizer muscles is not good. The guys you see on the comercials lift free weights to get looking like they do.
