looking for a home gym – what do you have?
I’ve been thinking about getting a home gym. The only one I am familar with is bowflex – which I have heard mixed opinions. What do you have and do you like it?
I was also thinking about free weights, but I don’t think I want to go that direction, so what gyms would you suggest?
Going to a gym is not an option. Have a new baby, so I’d like something I can do at home.
Answer only if you have a home gym, what kind you have, and your thoughts on it (prices would be helpful)
Thanks in advance.

dumbells, ez bar and am looking for an adjustable bench
i can do plenty of exercise with dumbells and barlbells
lunges, squats, curls, kickbacks, rows, military press, deadlifts and stiff legged deadlifts
you can even circuit train to get ripped with bumbells and barbells
I knew someone with a SoloFlex and he’s very fussy. He loves it.
I like free weights. A must is to get a chin up bar. I like the ones that hang off a door frame. They work great. You can do a slew of excersices with out a machine. Plus it is cheaper and I think better becuase there is less of a chance of hurting yourself.
my gym at home includes an olympic bench, a squat rack cage, around 600 lbs of plates (i only need 315 to bench and 405 to squat ;] ), dumbbells from 20-65, dumb bell rack, two 45 lb bars (one for bench one for my squat rack), an ez curl bar, ab crunch board, adjustable board, and i have flooring.
my “gym equipment” was not that expensive in comparison to gym machines. total was about 4,500-5000 (not including flooring, or the tv). the actual building itself was a little over $10,000. it measures 20×16
i love my gym
i JUST got a Bowflex Motivator and so far so gud….
Just make sure you have to room and the time to set it up.
Bowflex is pretty exensive, but the Motivator was pretty cheap AND it has a bench for bench presses, unlike the others where u can only sit, you can lie down and sit on the Motivator.
It also folds up, even though its heavy to lift, it is a space saver.
And, when you look up the dimensions, dont go by the standard dimension, go by the WORKOUT AREA dimensions, beause the bowflex bars bend ect, varying the dimensions.
Well, its gud so far and i cant wait to use it some more
Gud luk
(If you have any questions just add to the details and ill try to answer)
Um… as for price, it depends, you can find some sales but standard is about 900 maybe less, you can probably find one for 600.
i dont like free wieight… i find it boring… having a new bowlfex motivator motivates me, as cheesy as that may sound…
So, check it out….
