Equipment for Home Gym?

What’s the best equipment for a home gym?
It would have to be somethings that myself and family can use (6’3-210 lb boys in family). We have treadmill, what else?
If you have a home gym do you use it enough to pay for itself?
Thanks!!!

What equipment you have depends on your budget, size of the space, and what you and your family will use. The treadmill is a good start, but I would think about adding a second cardio machine that is low impact. The three best options for this would be a rowing machine, elliptical, or an exercise bike. The other essential equipment would be a set a free weights, a small bench, and a couple of mats (for floor exercises).

Some other equipment that may be fun but not really necessary; it depends on your interests and size of the space:
    1. Medicine balls
    2. Balance ball
    3. Resistance bands
    4. Boxing bags (if you have people interested in kick boxing or boxing)
    5. Yoga Bricks, mat, and strap

I do not currently have a home gym but other of my family member do and they use it consistently. Hence I think it may be worth the initial investment.
